Do I Really Need A Will?

Your will is your only way of expressing your wishes when you are no longer here to speak for yourself. From your directions about your funeral, to the appointment of guardians for your children (or pets!), and of course how you would like your worldly goods dealt with and by whom, your will should say it all. Additionally, writing a will enables you to help minimise inheritance tax and protect and preserve assets for your loved ones. 

The laws of intestacy apply and that can be complicated. They can overlook the many different family dynamics in the UK; it's not uncommon for our families to involve multiple marriages, divorces, children, step-children and unmarried partnerships.  The Government has a helpful tool which shows you who benefits depending upon a person's family situation.
